During her recent trip to the UAE for the Golden Mile Galleria’s Fitness Festival – a month-long series of fitness events – Kayla Itsines met Friday for a fashion shoot on the track at the Galleria, and a chat about life, Instagram and the meals that keep her going. She’s got nearly 8 million Insta followers and personal training clients – girl needs to keep her energy up. Here are here top tips, plus, what she typically eats in a day.
Breakfast: Toast with eggs and chili kale and green tea or chamomile tea.
Snack: Dips and vegetables or fruit
Lunch: Gyros or kebab with pita bread; meat and vegetables; or a tuna roll.
Snack: More fruit.
Dinner: Rice, meat and vegetables with a small dessert.
Kayla’s top tips for eating well
✱ You need quick and easy meals that you can prepare for the week. Stir-fries, meats, vegetables and lentils are all great foods.
✱ It’s about working out what is right for your body and putting it into an easy dish.
✱ Eat homemade dips and cut-up vegetables. Make these and put them at the front of the fridge and you’ll be surprised how much you’re picking at them.
✱ The first thing you see in your fridge is what you’ll eat – so if you prepare it, you’ll eat it.
